Firstly we have been to a Dog Training Class in Bellbroughton (close to Kidderminster) it's called "Best Pals" run by a lady called Karen, they'd not come across a Trailie before but they've now experienced Marley! I can recommend the classes, it's all reward based training (usually food - great for Trailies!) the trainers are exceptionally patient and will help with individual problems/behavioural issues the courses are run at your own pace but they work towards Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizen awards. They worked wonders with Marley in a very short space of time and have classes for all abilities (they also know a lot of other people in the dog world !) Telephone number for Karen is 07968 413543

Secondly, we have come across an excellent Boarding Kennel also situated in Bellbroughton it's called "Meadow Croft" The kennels themself are very modern and clean the staff handle the dogs well and Marley likes them and responds to them well, each dog has indoor and outdoor kennel space and the owner has a 1 or 2 acre secure field where the dogs are allowed off the lead twice a day for some exercise, they also get a biscuit when they get tucked up for the night !! The dogs alternative to Cumberland Sausage
Liquidize one pound of Liver together with 3 eggs and 5 gloves of garlic.

Add plain flour to make a ‘cake mix’ consistency.

Place it into a greased cake tin and bake at 200 degrees C for about 20 minutes.

Allow to cool, cut into cubes or sausages and freeze.

Once thawed it lasts 3 days tops in the fridge.

Keep in air tight container as it pongs!

Guaranteed to drive your Trailie wild and bring them home every time!

Walking Aid

Richard and Heather had previously showed us some photos of the ‘device’ they bought for exercising Poppy when Heather and Richard ride their bikes.
Apparently it comes from Pets at Home and costs about £30 says Heather. Looks a great idea and apparently Poppy loves it, plus she is able to cover a longer distance as Heather and Richard can stand the pace on their bikes.
